Happening this weekend in Miramar: Karaoke, toy drive celebration, themed brunch

Miramar is deep in its December events as the city gets ready for upcoming holidays.

There are themed holiday events, a family outing and a ribbon cutting celebration. Drop off gifts at a toy drive, get dressed up for brunch or take the family to sing karaoke.

Here are some of the events happening in Miramar from Friday, Dec. 12, through Sunday, Dec. 14:

Friday

Ribbon Cutting for Bamboo Loft — 4 to 5 p.m.

The Miramar Pembroke Pines Regional Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the opening of this new restaurant and lounge in Miramar. Join community leaders as they cut the ribbon at Bamboo Loft, 6532 Pembroke Road.

WOB Holiday Special Karaoke — 8 p.m.

Each installment in the series of events at World of Beer Bar and Kitchen in Miramar has a theme. This week, the theme is holiday karaoke. Sing through your favorite festive songs while the rest of the community sings along.

Saturday

Not Forgotten Toy Drive — noon to 3 p.m.

Join Commissioner Maxwell Chambers at Shirley Branca Park for this holiday toy drive to benefit Not Forgotten Corporation. The event is accepting unwrapped toys for ages 1 to 17. In addition to dropping off gifts, guests can buy from food trucks, enjoy music or send their kids to the bounce house.

Bridgerton Brunch — 3 to 9 p.m.

Get all dressed up for this “Bridgerton”-themed brunch event at Town Center that will benefit Aiding Aids Inc. and Sunshine Women’s Health. The “Bridgerton” TV show is based on the Regency Era of the 1800s, known for its elegant outfits, and this is expected to be an upscale affair. Celebrate with musical performances, signature cocktails and brunch food. Tickets start at $36 on Eventbrite.

Saturday and Sunday

Miramar Gun & Knife Show

The last gun and knife show in Miramar for this year is happening at 9 a.m. on Saturday and at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Hosted by Florida Gun Expo, vendors will be available at the Miramar National Guard Armory for both days, in addition to concealed carry classes. Tickets are $11 and parking is free.
