If you’re looking for things to do this weekend in Miramar, you’ve got your choice of two shows: Journey to Kingston at the Miramar Cultural Center and The Levi Knowles Experience at Miramar Seafood and Steak.
As for family-friendly events, Play it Safe Palooza promotes fun and safety, and Sensory Saturday is made for special needs children.
Here are some of the events happening in Miramar from Friday, May 29, through Sunday, May 31:
Friday
Low-Impact Aerobics — 9 a.m.
Hosted by Commissioner Yvette Colbourne, this class welcomes all levels. The low-impact moves allow you to exercise without putting too much pressure on your joints. Join for free at the Vernon E. Hargray Youth Enrichment Center.
Live Band Friday — 8 to 11 p.m.
Enjoy a night out with The Levi Knowles Experience, a live band playing energetic music. The show takes place at Miramar Seafood and Steak, where they encourage you to reserve a seat on Eventbrite.
Saturday
Free Yoga Saturdays Hosted by Mayor Wayne Messam — 10 a.m.
Every Saturday morning, this group meets at the Miramar Cultural Center botanical garden for a restorative yoga session. All you have to do is bring your mat and water to be prepared to follow the moves. The yoga class is free and welcomes all levels, but requires a waiver to attend.
Sensory Saturday — Noon to 3 p.m.
Sensory Saturday is intended for children with special needs ages 5-12. There will be engaging sensory experiences provided by Sensory Save Haven, Inc. Register for free on Eventbrite to participate in activities and get parent resources at the Vernon E. Hargray Youth Enrichment Center.
Play it Safe Palooza — 3 to 7 p.m.
Kiwanis East Pines Miramar is hosting a free day just for kids at Lakeshore Park to promote safety. There will be essential safety tips, games, food trucks, prizes and screenings from Memorial Health. Stop by to meet a police dog or enter to win a new bike.

There are still some tickets left for Journey to Kingston featuring Spragga Benz, Wayne Wonder and Agent Sasco (Assassin). The reggae concert at the Miramar Cultural Center will feature special guests such as Stephen, Damian and Ky-Mani Marley. Everton Blender and Don Yute are scheduled to perform, too. Get tickets for $90 to $106.
Sunday

New mothers and infants, partners and grandparents are encouraged to attend this session with a board-certified lactation consultant.
