Miramar to celebrate July 4 with free fireworks for America’s 250th anniversary
This Independence Day is unlike previous celebrations, as the country celebrates 250 years.
Miramar will hold its yearly July 4 celebration starting at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at Miramar Regional Park.
Gates will close at 8:30 p.m. for the fireworks show that starts at 9 p.m. The city is promoting it as “one of the best firework shows in Florida.”
The free event will feature a full fireworks display, food trucks, Miramar Land kids zone and DJ dance party. You can also enter to win giveaways at the event.
This year also introduces opportunities to discover home-based businesses in the village.
Food and drinks will be sold, but no coolers, outside food or drinks are allowed. Pets, drones and fireworks are also not allowed in the park.
Miramar’s celebration is not an official America250 event as part of Congress’ initiative to commemorate the anniversary, but the city is still participating and using the official logo on its flyer.
Celebrations are happening throughout the year, highlighted by July 4 events.
“America250 invites everyone to take part in this national commemoration — through local events, shared experiences, and opportunities to reflect on the country’s past and future,” the site reads.
Some celebrations in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Hialeah are marked on the celebration map.
