Thanksgiving Day is a holiday usually centered around food, whether you cook it or order in. Many families go out to eat instead of celebrating at home, or would rather have someone else cook the big meal. This year, several restaurants in Miramar will be open to Thanksgiving guests.

Here are some of the restaurants that are still open on Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, Nov. 27:

Benihana — 3261 SW 160th Ave., Miramar

The Japanese steakhouse chain is open for business on Thanksgiving Day. Get dinner and a show for your holiday with a chef preparing the meal in front of you Teppanyaki style, or gather at a quieter table. Their four-course hibachi prix fixe menu costs $39 and runs Nov. 27-30.

El Churrascaso Grill — 11608 City Hall Promenade

While Brazilian fusion cuisine may be a little different than the idea of a traditional Thanksgiving meal of turkey and mashed potatoes, El Churrascaso Grill still has a variety of options to enjoy. The restaurant is known for its range of sizzling meats, including steak, shrimp, octopus and lamb. They’re inviting the public to join them for a Thanksgiving meal.

Coconutz Fusion Cafe — 2408 S. State Road 7

This local Jamaican restaurant is hosting a community meal with special guest Mayor Wayne M. Messam and I&I Radio DJs . To make sure no one eats alone on Thanksgiving, the meal is completely free. Dinner guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the food and music from 1 to 4 p.m.
