Black-owned restaurant to open location in Miramar Town Center. What’s on menu?
A new restaurant is coming to Miramar Town Center.
Brandon’s Bistro announced via Instagram story on Thursday, Jan. 8, that it is opening a location in Miramar.
The Black-owned restaurant in Pembroke Pines has received a lot of positive reviews, even making Yelp’s Best New Restaurants in the South list for 2024.
Now, it is planning an expansion into Miramar.
A manager for the Miramar location was not immediately available for comment on Jan. 9.
The signs on the windows in Town Center say “coming soon” but don’t list an opening date.
Opened in 2023 by “The Hungry Black Man” blogger Starex Smith and former NFL player Kayvon Webster, owners of Smith & Webster in North Miami, Brandon’s Bistro is all about classic African American cuisine.
Menu items include fried chicken and waffles at brunch, and shrimp and grits and braised oxtail for dinner, with a kitchen led by executive chef Gerald Harvey.
Part of Harvey’s mission is educating diners about the history of African-American cuisine.
“A reminder that some of the best food in the world comes from people who had to make something out of almost nothing — and did it beautifully,” Harvey wrote in an Instagram post on Jan. 8.
