The first Chick-fil-A location in Miramar closed on Jan. 16 for renovations.

Construction has begun at the Fountains of Miramar location, starting with the exterior. Chick-fil-A staff announced on Instagram that the restaurant is expected to reopen in May.

“This remodel will allow us to serve you faster and more efficiently. This will also give our team a better workplace experience with proper shade outside and more room inside,” the operator wrote.

This Chick-fil-A has a kids’ play area that will be kept in the remodel.

“We can’t wait to have you back in 17 weeks to see our new and improved look and experience,” the operator continued.

Staff celebrated on Jan. 15 by taking one last bite of Chick-fil-A’s signature sandwich and closing early at 4 p.m., after serving a limited menu, as shown on Instagram.

The newer model of the fast-food restaurant can be seen at the Miramar Parkway-Flamingo Road location, which opened in 2022.

That location is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day except Sunday. Unlike the one being renovated, this location has multiple drive-thru lanes that are covered.

The older Chick-fil-A has one lane that, over the years, has been given multiple canopies and water stations to accommodate the heat.
