Another breakfast and brunch spot could soon open near Miramar. Here are details
The loss of one breakfast chain makes room for another in Pembroke Pines.
Keke’s Breakfast Cafe could soon open its first location in the city at 10800 Pines Boulevard, according to a recently filed permanent food service permit application with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
The eatery, founded in Central Florida in 2006 by brothers Kevin and Keith Mahen, is known for its classic American-style breakfast and brunch plates that focus on fresh ingredients.
The Pembroke Pines News reached out to Keke’s Breakfast Cafe officials for comment and had not received a response as of May 11.
Fan-favorites from the menu include the “Florida Pancake,” Eggs Benedict and “Turtle” stuffed French toast topped with pecans, caramel and chocolate fudge. .
The location presumably would move into the former Denny’s space, which closed on Jan. 22.
The location is across from Pembroke Lakes Mall, just off of S. Hiatus Road, and a few steps from another popular breakfast spot, Bonjour French Bakery & Cafe.
Keke’s Breakfast Cafe operates restaurants across seven states, including 64 locations in Florida.
Denny’s Corporation acquired Keke’s Breakfast Cafe from K2 Restaurants, Inc. in 2022.
An opening date has not been announced as of May 11.
