PANAMA CITY - The Panama City Police Department has arrested a man in connection with a fatal stabbing on June 29.

According to a release from the agency, officers responded to a call at the Suburbian Studios, a hotel located at 4432 U.S. 98 in Panama City, regarding a physical altercation on June 29 at 2:07 a.m.

When the officers arrived, they discovered a woman with multiple stab wounds. She was transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Evidence and witness interviews led the officers to identify Terrence Pinder, 45, a citizen of the Bahamas, as the suspect.

Bay County Sheriff's Office deputies located Pinder at 1863 Annabella's Drive in Panama City Beach. Pinder was taken into custody without incident.

The PCPD says its investigation indicates that this was an isolated incident between two people who knew each other, and there is no current risk to the public.

Those with more information on the incident can contact the department at (850) 872-3100 or report tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers at (850) 785-TIPS.

An online jail lookup tool shows that Pinder is being held without bail at the Bay County Jail due to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hold. He faces charges of premeditated murder in the first degree and tampering with evidence.

Pinder's docket in the Bay County Clerk of the Court website shows that his first appearance was scheduled on June 30, where he had chosen to represent himself.

The victim has not yet been identified.
