How did Palm Beach County play a role in Taylor Swift's love story?

Taylor Swift famously sang, "Welcome to New York, it's been waiting for you." And apparently, the city is now waiting for her - to tie the knot.

For months, Swifties have speculated about where and when the pop superstar might get married to the NFL Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce. New hints about Swift's wedding location point away from South Florida, but Palm Beach County still played a role in her love story.

The clues suggest that Madison Square Garden is the venue.

The New York Times reported on a permit for street closures at the indoor arena in Midtown Manhattan from July 2 to July 4 for an event on July 3. It also reported that members of the Kansas City Chiefs booked hotel rooms around those dates in Times Square, near the arena.

And more details are emerging: The couple has told their guests not to bring any gifts to the wedding, according to media reports.

What are the couple's ties Palm Beach County?

Taylor Swift 'Florida'd it up' in Boca Raton

A mansion that Kelce rented at the Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club in Boca Raton served as the couple's South Florida home base last summer.

Swift announced her engagement to Kelce last August.

It happened just weeks after the two were spotted at the lavish Meat Market steakhouse in Boca Raton, the posh Harry's restaurant in West Palm Beach, the iconic Buccan eatery in Palm Beach and luxury-box seats at a Florida Panthers game. Swift even visited with patients at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood.

What drew the couple to Florida? Kelce has family in Central Florida and Swift's father lives in Pinellas County along Tampa Bay. The pair also has ties to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. Kelce won his first Super Bowl ring there with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020. Four years later, Swift performed there for three nights on her Eras Tour.

All of this happened before Swift appeared on Kelce's podcast to announce her new album "The Life Of A Showgirl." Swift talked about her vacation in Florida with Kelce, saying it was an eventful summer.

"This was our Florida summer, one hell of a drug," said Swift, referencing her song. "We really Florida'd it up."
