Don’t fill up on Halloween candy if you’re planning to run Miramar’s one-mile race the morning of Saturday, Nov. 1.

Vice Mayor Yvette Colbourne is hosting the run, which is open to adults and kids, at the Ansin Sports Complex.

The main one-mile run start time is 7 a.m., with a kids’ fun race at 7:50 a.m., according to the event flyer. Awards will be given out shortly after, then attendees can participate in a Zumba class, if the running isn’t enough of a workout.

Three-time Olympian Kai Selvon, who has represented Trinidad and Tobago on the world stage in track, will be in attendance.

“Now listen, I understand it’s a mile, so you can run, you can walk, or you can just bring your family to have a fun time,” Selvon said in a video on social media.

The third-annual event, which features vendors and giveaways, is free for Miramar residents or costs $25 for non-residents. You can sign up here.
