The holidays are a season of giving, and in Miramar there are lots of opportunities to give back to those in need, especially to children who may not receive gifts during the celebratory season.

Donating unwrapped new and slightly used gifts is one way to spread joy this December. Some organizations in Miramar have been collecting donations since November.

Here are some ways to donate gifts for the holidays in Miramar:

Not Forgotten Toy Drive — Dec. 13

Not Forgotten Corp. is hosting its annual toy drive event at Shirley Branca Park from noon to 4 p.m. In partnership with Commissioner Maxwell Chambers, this organization will gather unwrapped toys at an event that promises music, food trucks and a bounce house on its flyer. Not Forgotten is also taking donations and accepting volunteers for its distribution days, which are Dec. 15-20. This year it aims to reach 2,000 to 2,500 children, according to its website.

Somerset Academy Toys for Tots Toy Drive — Through Dec. 16

Stop by the Somerset Academy main office to give new or slightly used unwrapped toys for the holidays through Toys for Tots. Toys for Tots is a large, national organization that helps disadvantaged kids by distributing toys, books and resources. The donations are facilitated by Somerset Academy National Junior Honors Society.

Toi Spa Miramar Christmas Toy Drive — Through Dec. 18

Toi Spa Miramar at 12647 Miramar Parkway is partnering with Handfuls of Hope Drive and the Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation to collect toys for children. It is accepting new, unwrapped toys of at least $10 in value and in return giving out free cocktails. This nail spa is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 am. to 5 p.m.

Community Health Fair and Toy Drive — Dec. 19

Donate to support Angels for Humanity at this community health fair and toy drive at 8910 Miramar Parkway. Calixte Medical Center, Miramar Podiatry and We Stand Together are teaming up to provide a space from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. where attendees can learn more about health and wellness through local vendors, get health screenings and donate a toy for children in need.
