The Miramar Branch Library & Education Center at Town Center closed for most of November for renovations and reopened on Monday, Dec. 1. The library now features new carpet and has a lineup of events scheduled for December.

The library was closed from Nov. 2-30, halting all activities for the month.

On Dec. 1, patrons returned to the building to rent books and get work done.

Though the library’s phone number still played a recorded message on Tuesday, Dec. 2, saying it is closed, the library manager told the Miramar News that the branch officially reopened on Monday. The entire floor of the library has been recarpeted.

The Miramar Branch Library is home to many events, including an appearance from Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz on Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It is also open for dropping off essential supplies to donate to families affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Other December happenings include the Broward County Property Appraiser Mobile Team on Dec. 8, the holiday vendor craft sale on Dec. 13 and video games on Dec. 20.
