Miramar police ramp up patrols, offer tips for enjoying a safe holiday season
As the holiday season picks up, Miramar Police Chief Delrish Moss urged residents to celebrate safely in a video message released on the department’s social media accounts.
The message: Let’s reduce holiday-related accidents and crime by enjoying the season responsibly and keeping safety top of mind.
“Celebrate safely and look out for one another,” Moss said in the video posted Friday, Dec. 12, on the department’s Instagram and X accounts.
Moss said there will be heightened police presence in Miramar for the rest of the month.
“You will see more officers out in the community during the holiday season, but we’re here to keep everyone safe,” he said.
Moss also offered practical tips, including:
- Don’t drink and drive — use designated drivers
- Don’t text and drive
- Slow down, plan ahead and avoid distractions
- Stay aware of your surroundings during gatherings and shopping trips
