Miramar moving forward with upgrades at Cultural Center. Here’s what’s changing
The City of Miramar plans to install new perimeter fencing around the Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark, one of the city’s most prominent civic and cultural landmarks.
The city is announcing this week it will begin accepting bids for the project.
The fencing upgrade is the latest in a series of infrastructure improvements aimed at ensuring the cultural center, which opened in 2009 next to City Hall, remains a vibrant cultural venue.
The city’s 2025-2026 annual budget has allocated millions for upgrades to cultural centers and parks.
City officials say the new fencing will help define the property’s perimeter, improve security and preserve the appearance of the civic center campus while maintaining a welcoming character for the venue.
The 53,000-square-foot complex features a 750-seat theater, an intimate black box performance space, art galleries, classrooms and a botanical garden.
It has hosted national touring performances, local theater productions, art exhibitions, community meetings and educational programs for residents of all ages.
The cost of the project is unknown.
Sealed bids for the fencing project will be accepted until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13.
