Class of 2026 graduation schedule: Here are the dates for Miramar high schools
Although high school graduations are months away, Broward County Public Schools has announced its Class of 2026 ceremony schedule.
The Miramar News is giving students and families a first look at when and where they’ll walk the stage in the spring, and the do’s and don’ts of attending the ceremonies.
And there are strict rules to follow at the commencements: No throwing graduation caps in the air, no unsolicited applause and no confetti or beach balls.
Graduation ceremonies will take place from Thursday, May 28, through Wednesday, June 3, for all district public high schools. Charter schools are holding their own ceremonies.
Here are the graduation schedules for Miramar high schools:
Everglades High School
- Graduation day: Friday, May 29
- Time: 7 p.m.
- Where: Nova Southeastern University, 3300 S. University Dr., Fort Lauderdale
Miramar High School
- Graduation day: Monday, June 1
- Time: 7 p.m.
- Where: Dillard High School, 2501 NW 11th St., Fort Lauderdale
Rules for parents and guests
The district is making it clear it will not tolerate any disruptions during graduation ceremonies, according to its news release. Students and attendees may be removed from the ceremony if their conduct is deemed inappropriate or disruptive.
Here are the rules families and graduates should be aware of, according to the district:
- To ensure graduation ceremonies are conducted in a dignified manner, the district expects students, parents and guests to follow basic standards of decorum and etiquette.
- Appropriate dress is recommended, such as business attire for men and semi-formal attire for women.
- Personal cameras without flash and hand-held video cameras are permitted, provided attendees remain seated and do not block others’ views.
- Flash photography and stand-up videotaping are not permitted during the ceremony.
- Noisemakers, including air horns or whistles, are strictly prohibited.
- Throwing beach balls, balloons or similar items is not allowed.
- Confetti is not permitted at any time during the ceremony.
- Only individuals authorized in the graduation program may address the audience or graduates. No one may speak without specific approval from the school principal.
- Ceremonies will begin promptly. Late arrivals will not be seated until after the presentation of colors and the national anthem.
Student behavior
Students are also expected to maintain appropriate conduct and attire throughout the ceremony:
- Students should dress appropriately and recognize the significance of the event.
- Graduation caps must be worn at all times and may not be thrown in the air at the end of the ceremony.
- Only students designated in the graduation program may address the audience or graduating class during the ceremony.
- Noisemakers, including air horns or whistles, are strictly prohibited.
- Throwing confetti, beach balls, balloons or similar items is not allowed.
- Schools will provide students with detailed instructions regarding cap and gown orders, guest tickets, safety protocols and livestreaming options.
