Former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will headline the City of Miramar’s annual Women’s Empowerment Luncheon on Friday, March 13, bringing a message of resilience, leadership and civic engagement.

Jean-Pierre, who was born in Martinique to Haitian parents, served as press secretary and senior adviser to former President Joe Biden, and built a national profile as one of the administration’s top spokespersons.

Her tenure at the White House placed her at the forefront of major policy discussions and historic moments, underscoring a career defined by public service and breaking barriers.

Jean-Pierre left the Democratic Party after Biden was removed as the Democratic presidential candidate in 2024. Her latest book, “Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines” chronicles her political journey. She is also the author of “Moving Forward: A Story of Hope, Hard Work, and the Promise of America.”

City leaders say her presence reflects the significance of this year’s luncheon, which celebrates women’s achievements across sectors while encouraging the next generation of leaders.
