Three crashes causing rush-hour delays along Miramar roadways on Wednesday
Three separate crashes Wednesday are likely to impact traffic around Interstate 75, Florida’s Turnpike and Okeechobee Road in northwestern Miami-Dade County.
Around 9 a.m. on March 4, southbound traffic on I-75 in Miramar was slowed after a truck collided and flipped over near the Miramar Parkway exit, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
About an hour earlier, a vehicle collision on southbound Florida’s Turnpike near Palm Avenue temporarily closed the left lanes of traffic into Miami-Dade.
Further south, a more serious crash just before 8 a.m. involved two tractor-trailers at West Okeechobee Road and Northwest 170th Street.
One truck driver was airlifted to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, while the other was not injured.
According to FHP, the trucks collided at the intersection at 6:56 a.m., flipping both semis and spilling fuel and debris across the roadway.
The crash forced the closure of a section of Okeechobee Road for clean up. As of 10 a.m. the road remained closed.
