Sisters turn love of matcha into traveling drink cart. Where to find it in Miramar
The idea for Eden’s Table was born in Miramar, where Adrienne Lester grew up. Now, she and her sister, Ashley Marshall, travel around Miramar and other Broward neighborhoods serving homemade matcha, coffee and baked goods.
“Me and my sister drank matcha all the time and I was like, ‘What if we just did a matcha cart and popped up places?’” Lester told the Miramar News.
On Saturday, March 14, Eden’s Table will have a pop-up at 11 a.m. at Catalina at Miramar, where the idea for a matcha cart began. Lester worked as a private chef and caterer, partnering with Catalina in the past.
The sisters were impressed with the turnout of their first event. They received a lot of support from their church families, as faith is at the center of their mission.
“The way that they showed up was just insane. I’ve been an entrepreneur for most of my adult life, so just to see people show up in this way was amazing to see,” Lester said.
The current menu is iced matcha, cold brew, banana bread, chocolate chip cookies and pound cake. Current matcha flavors include banana bread, toasted marshmallow and blueberry cheesecake.
Starbucks also has a banana bread flavor.
“I think that’s a big comparison point,” said Lester, “how many people are like, ‘Oh my gosh, I had that at Starbucks and it was terrible.’”
All syrups are house made with organic ingredients and the cold brew is sourced from a Miami roaster. The matcha is sourced from Japan.
Lester said she appreciates the wellness focus Mayor Wayne M. Messam promotes in the city, and sees Eden’s Table as a part of that.
“I do think there’s a space for more wellness stuff in Miramar, and that’s what we hope to bring to the area,” she said.
Eden’s Table will also be at Atlantico at Miramar on Friday, March 27, and at Sol Playce’s Daddy & Me Workout Event on Saturday, March 28.
