With the closure of a longtime late-night spot for breakfast cuisine aficionados, Pembroke Pines has said goodbye to another chain restaurant.

The Denny’s at 10800 Pines Blvd. has closed its doors, leaving one location in the city.

An April 6 Instagram post by local events account The Broward Scene posted the restaurant has been closed for “a little bit over a month.”

Signs posted on the restaurant’s entrance thank customers for “15 wonderful years” and redirects patrons to its nearest location at 1290 N. University Drive.

A representative for the restaurant chain told the Pembroke Pines News on April 6 that the location is “out of the system” and closed on Jan. 22.

“We’d like to thank our team members and the Pembroke Pines community for their love of the Denny’s brand and to visit our nearby location at 1290 N. University Drive,” the chain’s media team wrote in an email. “We’re unable to share exact details about why the restaurant closed.”

The location is steps away from the now-closed Bahama Breeze at 11000 Pines Blvd.

Online reaction to the Denny’s closure has been mixed, with most criticizing the restaurant’s food quality and wait time.

“Close them all,” wrote Kevin J. Kelleher. “Filthy and bad food.”

“That’s fine,” wrote Anil Sawh. “Maybe we’ll get something more unique in the spot.”

Ryan Perodeau wrote, “Hate to say it but Denny’s has been going downhill for years in terms of quality. I can honestly say it sucks to see [people] get laid off but this gives room for new places and businesses ...”

That Denny’s was good. Always hit it at about 4 a.m. ... The waiter was super nice and awesome. Will be missed,” Ozzy Reyes wrote.

It is unclear what, if anything, will replace it.
