A Miramar man indicted for eight counts of child exploitation denies that he coerced minors to produce child pornography, according to court documents.

Arthur Gabriel Young, 23, has been charged with six counts of sexual exploitation of children producing child pornography, one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography, the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida said in an April 9 news release.

Court documents show he pleaded not guilty to all counts on April 2.

Young’s jury trial is scheduled for May 27. If found guilty, he faces up to 30 years in prison on the production of child pornography counts and up to 20 years’ on the receipt and possession counts.

Young’s lawyer, Richard Keith Alan II, told the Miramar News on April 10: “It is Autism Awareness Month. Arthur is autistic. We are praying for all involved.”

Young is accused of carrying out the acts from June 2024 to February 2025. The indictment says that four minor girls were involved, and that Young had reason to know the visuals produced would be transmitted to others.

He is a former University of Florida student, according to the Independent Florida Alligator. According to the arrest report obtained by the outlet, one alleged victim was 12 years old.

The two spoke and exchanged photos and calls through Discord, the Alligator reported. The social media app then reported a tip of a user engaging in sexual conversations with a minor, according to the outlet.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse, officials said.
