In Coral Springs, the image of firefighters rescuing kittens from trees has been replaced by a new one: extracting pet snakes from places they aren’t supposed to be.

When their beloved pet got stuck in a laundry basket on Wednesday, April 29, the python’s owners went to the Coral Springs Fire Department’s Station 80 for help.

Staff successfully removed the entangled creature from the basket using shears.

“Snake went home, no injuries,” Captain Richard “Richie” Antonini, a spokesman for the department, told the Coral Springs News.

It’s the second time this year that the Coral Springs Fire Department has been enlisted to assist with a stuck snake — a pet python needed rescue after getting stuck in a car dashboard in early March.

And it might not be the last time, either.

“We’re here for whatever people need,” Antonini said. “Any problems, they can stop by any firehouse.”
