Ansin Sports Complex releases calendar of pro, youth track meets. Here’s the lineup

The Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar is home to regional and international track and field events, with the statue of “Fastest Man Alive” Usain Bolt at the front as inspiration for the runners.

This year, there is a wide range of meets to watch, from the professional to the high school and college levels.

Take a look at who’s competing in the next several weeks at some of these highlight events.

Goulds Miami Classic - Battle of the Clubs — Feb. 28

Youth teams have entered to compete in this club competition. Field events begin at 8 a.m. and running events at 8:15 a.m. Ages 5-18 will compete in youth events, and 19 and above for masters events.

Ellis Elite 16 — March 7

St. Thomas Aquinas High School will host the Elite 16 Track and Field invitational, which is meant to be two meets in one. The main event will feature the top 16 high school athletes in each event — Elite athletes. The Emerging Elite athletes who don’t qualify for the top 16 times, jumps and throws will compete with those at a similar level.

U.S. Marines Recruiting Station Fort Lauderdale Annual Field Meet — March 14

At the annual field meet, South Florida Marines and future Marines gather and compete against each other. Future Marines can request information on the Marines website.

Ansin Sports Complex Youth Outdoor Challenge — March 21

Athletes have until March 17 to register for this youth event. According to Coach O Promotions, the event aims to foster youth development through various track and field events where kids can showcase their talents.

Miramar Invitational — April 4

Save the date for the highly anticipated Miramar Invitational. This event is known for featuring Olympic athletes. Previous competitors include Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson and Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred, both Olympic gold medalists. Tickets are available on Ticketmaster starting at $28.

HBCU Relays Experience (HRE) — April 10-11

HBCU Relays Experience is a competition showcasing the nation’s top high school and college athletes. It’s meant to showcase the future of athletics by uniting different cultures. There will also be food and entertainment for spectators. Save the date — tickets aren’t on sale as of Feb. 26.
