5K races, pickleball, volleyball & more. Check out these Miramar athletic events
There are many opportunities to get active in Miramar with events ranging from kids sports to one of the biggest sporting events of the year. In addition, there are two opportunities to run a 5K race and a pickleball tournament for all skill levels. Check out some of the athletic events and leagues happening in Miramar through April:
February
New Year, New Me 5K — Feb. 14
All ages and run levels are encouraged to participate in this Valentine’s Day 5K. Join the group at Miramar Regional Park for the race starting at 7 a.m. Parking will close at 6:30 a.m. This is a run/walk, making it more accessible, and the fee to participate is $25. If you’re coming to support, viewers can enjoy food trucks, games, music and other vendors.
Volleyball SLCC Spring Youth League — Feb. 20 to May 10
Registration is open until Feb. 20 for this youth league with three divisions: 12-and-under, 14-and-under and 17-and-under. The program fee is $100 for Miramar residents to participate at the Sunset Lakes Community Center gym. Practices will be on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Mayor Messam Health and Fitness 5K — March 7
The eighth annual 5K starts at Miramar Town Center with Mayor Wayne M. Messam participating. This race doubles as a health fair with yoga, family activities, health screenings and vendors from 8 to 11 a.m., while the race begins at 7 a.m. The fee to participate is $35.
Miramar Open Pickleball Tournament — March 14
Lakeshore Park will be the site of Miramar’s pickleball tournament, open to players of all levels. For $45, join the action from 8 a.m. until the final match. Refreshments will be on sale for the audience. Register on Eventbrite.
April
Mini Sports — April 2 to May 7
The Mini Sports program is a six-week instructional opportunity for children age 3 to 5. To help the kids develop necessary motor skills, activities will consist of running, jumping and hand-to-eye coordination drills. Residents can join for $45, and children attend on Thursdays from 3 to 4 p.m. Parents are encouraged to participate with children. Call 954-883-6791 for more information.
Miramar Invitational at Ansin Sports Complex — April 4
The city has put out the save-the-date for the highly anticipated Miramar Invitational. At the 2025 track meet, Olympic athletes competed. Previous competitors include Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson and Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred, both Olympic gold medalists. Tickets are available on Ticketmaster starting at $28.
