Paranormal Cirque will be putting on a show that blends circus acts, theater and cabaret under their big top at Miramar Regional Park.

From Friday, Jan. 9, to Monday, Jan. 19, the circus has 14 performances scheduled during its 11-day stop in Miramar. Tickets for those age 13 to 17 start at $20, and adult tickets start at $30.

Paranormal Cirque is part of Cirque Italia, which tours with-high energy shows of different themes. The theme at their Miramar stop is “nightmare,” while others are named “voodoo,” “specter” and “inferno,” according to its website.

“A new show with breathtaking implications always poised between fun and the most uninhibited fear that will transport you to a dark world inhabited by creatures with incredible circus art abilities,” the Eventbrite page reads.

A crazy yet fun fusion between circus, theatre, and cabaret in perfect harmony with the evolution of a show that brings you back to when we dream ... and when we had nightmares and fantasies.”

The show is partially meant to scare guests, so it is not suitable for children under age 13. Teens ages 13 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult over 21 with a photo ID.

Cirque Italia warns the show has adult language and content not intended for ages under 17.

Aerial artists, motorcycle tightrope riders, contortionists, dancers and acrobats all take the stage in this dark show. The circus has “normal” acts, including illusionists and “freaks,” Cirque Italia wrote, but it says the rest of the show is far from normal.

In a preview clip, performers are seen in dark costumes, spooky makeup and fake blood.

Adults can purchase tickets at cirqueitalia.com or on Eventbrite.
