Singers from Broadway shows such as “Dreamgirls” and “Aladdin” are coming to Miramar for a performance with a message.

Speaking Up In Every Key: A Musical Conversation with Seth Rudetsky, Lillias White & Arielle Jacobs will take place at the Miramar Cultural Center at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22.

The show is presented by The Overlap, a program that celebrates cultural diversity through art, highlighting the common ground people share from different backgrounds.

Tickets start at $20, and a meet and greet is available for $125.

“From this foundation, we select programs that center real human experience, especially voices that are often marginalized or misunderstood, and that encourage reflection and dialogue rather than division,” Ali Shrago-Spechler, the director of the George Gottlieb Institute, told the Miramar News.

The Overlap is funded by the Sam Berman Charitable Foundation and presented in collaboration with the David Posnack JCC’s George Gottlieb Institute and the Jewish Federation of Broward County.

Rudetsky, White and Jacobs will be joined by the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida.

Rudetsky’s musical talents include piano, singing, acting and writing, all of which he has done on Broadway. He also hosts Sirius XM Radio’s “Seth’s Big Fat Broadway Show.”

White is known for “Dreamgirls” and won a Tony award for “The Life” musical. Jacobs played Nina in “In the Heights” and Jasmine in “Aladdin.”

“This show was intentionally brought to MCC because MCC is a trusted and accessible community space that already attracts a broad, diverse audience and is committed to programming that fosters inclusion,” Shrago-Spechler said.
