This week in Miramar: Storytime, line dancing, kids cooking class, yoga & more

Start March with activities happening all around Miramar.

This week, there will be free classes offered by the city for Zumba and line dancing, and the Miramar Cultural Center is offering a kids cooking demonstration.

Check out some of the events happening in Miramar from Monday, March 2, through Thursday, March 5:

Monday

Monday Flow @ The Rooftop With Kat — 8 p.m.

Join a 60-minute yoga class from Threetwo Ave. They meet on Mondays on the rooftop at Epic Residences for a free session. Park on the roof of the parking garage, bring a mat and a towel to put underneath it, and follow the moves.

Tuesday

Rhythms & Rhymes Storytime — 10:30 to 11 a.m.

If you have a child age 2-5, this storytime is meant for you. Head to the Miramar Branch Library every Tuesday to prep for preschool with activities and games to help them learn. Register in advance on Eventbrite.

Zumba at Town Center Plaza — 6:30 p.m.

It’s a party at Town Center with instructor Gaby Zumba Fit. Have fun and work up a sweat with this free outdoor exercise class. All you need to bring is water.

Thursday

Line Dancing at Vernon E. Hargray Youth Enrichment Center — 6 p.m.

Every Thursday, meet Jammin Jamei to learn line dances to popular songs. Work up a sweat, follow the steps and join a community of dancers from all levels.

Kids Kitchen Live — 6:30 p.m.

There is a cooking show and class just for kids at the Miramar Cultural Center. Make DIY food items and get hands-on instruction. This show is meant for ages 5-9, and each table holds one to two children and one adult for $40. Other dates for different ages are available.

Zumba Thursdays — 6:30 p.m.

Get back into dancing with this second free Zumba option. At the Sunset Lakes Community Center, Gaby Zumba Fit will instruct with dance moves that help you get fit. Bring water to this active event.
