The acclaimed CDT Jamaica will showcase its “Streams” performance on Saturday, March 14, at the Miramar Cultural Center.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show start at $45 on the Miramar Cultural Center website.

CDT specializes in contemporary Caribbean dance, and with this show, it is honoring Tony Wilson, the founder and former artistic director of The Company Dance Theater.

Wilson’s family shared in 2024 that he died after he had been sick for some time, according to the Jamaica Observer.

CDT was created out of The Company Dance Theater’s legacy. Through “Colin Blackwood, executive director of both CDT and The CDT School, the company continues to carry forward the visionary legacy of the late Tony Wilson, OD — blending Caribbean movement traditions with modern dance techniques and theatrical expression,” the Miramar Cultural Center wrote.

“Streams” focuses on themes of “visible and invisible currents that shape human experience — movement and stillness, memory and transformation, as well as tradition and innovation.”

Dancers will show off their physicality, ensemble coordination and fluidity in numbers that are meant to honor the history of CDT. The Miramar Cultural Center wrote in its description of CDT that it is recognized across the Caribbean and America for its athleticism and innovative choreography.
