Whether it’s a free class, a public meeting with vital information or a book reading for kids, there’s something for everyone.
Here are some of the events happening in Miramar from Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 19:
Monday
Set the Pace — 6:45 p.m.
The Miramar Run Club has moved its Monday Set the Pace run to Miramar City Hall. The group meets at 6:45 p.m. and the run starts at 7 p.m. This run is free and welcomes runners of all levels. The club will run for 30 minutes and has other meetups throughout the week at different paces.
Tuesday
Born Learning Trail Sign Unveiling — 10 a.m.
Learn more about the Born Learning Trail at this sign unveiling. Signs include information about the trail to educate park goers at Monarch Lakes Park. The unveiling is hosted by Commissioner Maxwell Chambers.
Rhythms & Rhymes Storytime! — 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Get ready for preschool with this weekly event at the Miramar Branch Library. This storytime incorporates playtime as well and helps children enhance their social skills. Register for free on Eventbrite.
Zumba at Town Center Plaza — 6:30 p.m.
Zumba at Town Center Plaza is an outdoor exercise party with music and dancing. Follow the moves of instructor Gabriela Jurado and bring water, as this exercise can work up a sweat. This event happens weekly for free.
All About Beer Trivia — 7 p.m.
Are you up for the challenge at World of Beer? Join the restaurant for a trivia night dedicated to types of beers and how they’re made. Bring your own team.
Salsa Classes (Tuesday and Thursday) — 7:30 p.m.
The first class is free at Salsa Kings. Join a group class on Red Road that is meant for all levels. Instructors will guide you through the steps in a welcoming environment.
Wednesday
Commission Meeting — 7 p.m.
Commission meetings usually happen on the first and third Wednesday of the month, where city officials pass ordinances, dispense information and hear from the public. Attend in person in the City Hall commission chambers, or online at miramarfl.gov.
Wednesday’s Night Chess — 7 to 10 p.m.
Chess enthusiasts can find common ground with the members of the Miramar Chess Club. Bring your own chess board to the Starbucks on Red Road to join the group and sharpen your strategy skills.
Thursday
Line Dancing Classes — 6 p.m.
Line Dancing Classes happen every Thursday at the Vernon E. Hargray Youth Enrichment Center. Learn line dances to popular songs with instructor Jammin Jamei, and make sure to bring water.
