The One Link Caribbean Music Festival will no longer be held at the FPL Solar Amphitheater at Bayfront Park in Miami.

Instead, headliners Machel Montano, DJ Khaled and Dexta Daps are among those now scheduled to perform Oct. 10-11 at the festival’s new venue, the Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater .

The event shares a following with Miami Carnival week, with Miami Carnival’s parade and concert scheduled for Oct. 12, an event that brings attendees from across the world to Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

Other One Link festival artists include dancehall artists Mavado, Shensea, Lady Lava and Nailah Blackman.

The amphitheater seats 3,000 under its canopy and 2,000 in general admission lawn seating. Bayfront Park’s seating capacity is similar, but its general admission lawn is larger, seating around 7,000.

The One Link festival is hosted by GenX Carnival, a group that often participates in Miami Carnival as one of the largest bands in the parade and hosts other carnival-related events.

GenX Carnival Director Tagyei Belinfante told the Miramar News that the switch to Miramar’s amphitheater “ presents a wonderful opportunity to partner with the City of Miramar and the Miramar Amphitheater team, a premier venue that offers great facilities and a setting perfectly suited for our growing audience.”

When asked for a reason for the change, Belinfante said, “Its central location, conveniently off I-75, also makes it easier for guests traveling from across South Florida and beyond, providing a more accessible experience for the wider Caribbean diaspora eager to enjoy the festival.”

The GenX Instagram post announcing the change also touts less traffic congestion at the new venue.
