Hate going to the DMV? This one-day event at Miramar City Hall could be for you
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) is bringing its Florida Licensing on Wheels program to Miramar City Hall on Friday, Oct. 24.
The program includes a fleet of seven large buses that can serve large groups that need DMV services.
The event is hosted by Miramar Commissioner Avril Cherasard and Florida Rep. Robin Bartleman, and services will be available by appointment only from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Here are the services available on the bus, according to a Facebook post by the city:
- License renewals, replacements and conversions
- ID cards and address/name changes
- Vehicle registration renewals
- Disabled parking placards
- Reinstatements and emergency contact info
There are no FLHSMV locations in Miramar. One location in Pembroke Pines on Pembroke Road only provides driver’s license services, while another on Flamingo Road only provides motor vehicle services. This bus will provide both driver's license and motor vehicle services for one day.
According to the FLHSMV, these mobile units do not offer written or driving tests.
Service prices range from free to $48. License renewals are $48, replacing a lost or stolen license is $25, temporary disabled parking placards are $15 and fees vary for vehicle registration renewal.
Those interested can call 954-872-1770 to schedule an appointment.
