The second annual Miramar Food & Wine Festival, hosted by Commissioner Maxwell Chambers, is happening at City Hall on Saturday, Oct. 25.

The lake by city hall will turn into what Chambers calls a “romantic” evening with multiple food vendors and beverages for sale.

The gathering is scheduled for 5-10 p.m.

One of the highlights will be multiple music stations with different DJs and genres.

At a regular commission meeting Oct. 15, Chambers said, “I had to bring it back, I get so [many] calls about this one.”

“It’s going to be really exciting,” he added.

The city will be accepting donations for the United Negro College Fund during the event. Chambers said there may be an admission fee of $10 but that it shouldn’t deter those who want to attend .

“You can still come if you can’t pay,” he said.

Those who donate will have a chance to win $100, $50, $25 and restaurant gift cards.

Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes so they are comfortable walking.

Last year’s festival was focused on art, food and wine and featured live performances and opportunities to paint, with a sizeable crowd.

“I don’t know if I’m going to be able to top last year, but I think I will,” Chambers said.
