A deadly car crash early Monday, Oct. 27, forced the closure of part of County Line Road in Miramar, according to police.

Miami Gardens police came across a car accident with the driver still inside, and that driver was pronounced dead in the “overnight hours” after Miami-Gardens Fire Rescue arrived on the scene, according to an email from Miramar police.

The second driver was listed in critical condition at Aventura Hospital, police said.

Authorities say a 2017 Honda Civic crashed head-on into a 2020 Tesla 3 while driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of County Line Road, forcing the closure of both directions from the 6000 block to the 7400 block.

Police did not say which car the deceased driver was in.

Miramar Police Traffic Homicide investigators and Crime Scene investigators began investigating after it was determined that the crash occurred within the City of Miramar’s jurisdiction. It is an ongoing traffic homicide investigation, police said.

Police have not released the identities of those killed and injured in the crash.
