The first Save a Life Day happened this year on Sept. 25, but the City of Miramar is bringing it back with Save A Life Day Holiday Edition.

The City of Miramar Fire Department and the vice mayor are hosting this educational event at the Alexandra P. Davis Multi Service Complex on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Registration is free on Eventbrite.

Save a Life Day is an opportunity for free naloxone (also known by the brand name Narcan) giveaways, where organizations around the nation give out the drug that can reverse overdoses.

This event will include a naloxone giveaway and other ways to learn essential skills that could save lives.

Here are some of the demonstrations available:

  • Signs of drug addiction (Narcan giveaway)
  • Car seat checks
  • Hurricane preparedness
  • Cardiac emergencies CPR/AED
  • Mental health awareness
  • Bike safety (bike helmet giveaway)

Light refreshments will be served.
