Dinner is on Miramar. Here’s how to get a seat at the city’s longest table event
Miramar is hosting a dinner party with food, drinks and conversation with fellow community members at The Longest Table 2026.
This free dinner event, hosted by Mayor Wayne M. Messam and the Hope for Society Foundation, will take up Town Center Plaza with long tables from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026.
“Sparking up a conversation with someone whom you’ve probably never met is the greatest way to step into another person’s own personal world,” Messam said in a listing for the event.
“The Longest Table is meant for talking over experiences and sharing a laugh or two while enjoying delicious meals in an aesthetically comforting environment.”
The Longest Table is an initiative made popular by NYCNext, a nonprofit organization.
It aims to create stronger neighborhoods by bringing together communities for a free potluck dinner and has been featured on “Good Morning America.” Some events bring out neighbors from one neighborhood, while events such as the one in Miramar are geared toward the entire city.
The Longest Table event in Miramar is taking applications for volunteers through Hope for Society, a nonprofit organization based in Lauderhill.
The city also partnered with Hope for Society this year for The Longest Table 2025, the nonprofit sharing its mission of making a difference in communities by volunteering.
