Spring blooms bring ‘biggest sale yet’ to Miramar Community Garden. Here are details
Spring is here and plants are blooming at the Miramar Community Garden.
The garden will hold its “biggest sale yet” on Saturday, April 18, welcoming visitors from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3700 Largo Drive.
Expect seedlings, herbs and more. Plus, as part of the Bee Healthy campaign, the Bee Healthy committee will offer handcrafted teas.
If you’ve been to the community garden, you may notice that renovations are underway. Members are in the process of completing fencing and garden upgrades.
Photos on the garden’s Instagram show a plot teeming with a variety of plants. It is located in Historic Miramar and spans 7,400 square feet.
The collective of members grows its own fruits, vegetables and herbs, and builds community.
Members and non-members can also learn more about planting and healthy eating at workshops and classes each month. The next workshop is Medicinal Plants 101 on May 16.
The city recently acknowledged National Gardening Month at a commission meeting.
The community garden wrote on Feb. 24: “Moments like these remind us that gardening is so much more than plants — it’s about people coming together, sharing resources, and growing something beautiful as a community. Government, gardeners, and friends — all in one place!”
