This weekend in Miramar: Broward Goombay, World Cup parties, health fair & more

The last two games of the FIFA World Cup are this weekend, and fans can catch Sunday’s final as well as Saturday’s third-place match during free watch parties at Miramar Regional Park.

In addition, the inaugural Bahamas Goombay Broward is this weekend, so get ready for junkanoo bands and lots of food.

You also can get free health screenings at a community health fair and school drive on Douglas Road.

Here are some events happening from Friday, July 17, through Sunday, July 19, in Miramar:

Friday

Low-Impact Aerobics — 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

This free class is designed for all fitness levels. Join the group at the Vernon E. Hargray Youth Enrichment Center for a fun and inclusive class that focuses on moves that are easy on the joints. Follow along and get the exercise you’re looking for.

Saturday

Community Health Fair: School Drive & Table Talk 2026 — 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Hosted by Calixte Medical Center, Miramar Podiatry & Surgery, and We Stand Together, Inc., this free community event will take place at 3240 S. Douglas Road. Access free health screenings and health education resources, donate to the school drive and attend a table talk where healthcare professionals will discuss chronic disease prevention, cancer awareness, healthy living and overall wellness.

FREE Yoga Saturdays hosted by Mayor Messam — 10 to 11 am.

Grab your mat and water for this inclusive yoga class, with moves that are adjusted for every level. Whether you’re new to yoga or brushing up on your skills, join the group at the Miramar Cultural Center botanical garden to follow along. Make sure to fill out the city’s release form before attending.

Opera Cat: A Read-Along, Sing-A-Song with Florida Grand Opera —11 a.m. to noon

The Florida Grand Opera is offering a free, kid-approved experience at the Miramar Branch Library for children ages 8 and under. Expect story time, a live aria performance and a craft activity. Follow the story of opera cat Alma and her tales of music and humor.

Do You Remember? The Adult Recess Day — Noon to 8 p.m.

Remember what it was like to be a kid? This day at Vizcaya Park is going to be full of nostalgia. Sponsored by Commissioner Maxwell Chambers and 99 Jamz, the event will feature games such as spades, dominoes, tug-of-war, sack race, dodgeball and flag football. DJs Supa Twitch, Killa Mike and Juxxy Fiyah will run the music. Tickets are $23 on Eventbrite.

World Cup Watch Party — 1 p.m.

The third-place game in the FIFA World Cup will feature France against England. The match kicks off at 5 p.m. Expect food and drink vendors, a giant screen and lots of fans at Miramar Regional Park. Admission is free and registration is required, while parking is $10 in advance.

Bahamas Goombay Broward — 2 to 9 p.m.

Goombay is coming to Broward for the first time. Hosted by Commissioner Avril Cherasard, this Bahamian event at City Hall plaza will feature music, food and a junkanoo band. There will be activities for kids and adults, and a battle of the conch fritters.

World Cup Watch Party — 1 p.m.

Get ready for the highly anticipated final match of the FIFA World Cup. Spain plays Argentina at 3 p.m. for the title, and you can watch it at Miramar Regional Park. There will be a big screen at the amphitheater, food and drink vendors, and lots of excitement. Admission is free but registration is required; parking is $10 in advance.
