Get your week started with these events in Miramar.

Take a free class with friends or find a way to get more involved in city issues at the Historic Miramar Advisory Board meeting.

Plus, a special event at World of Beer is coming.

Here are some events happening in Miramar from Monday, Jan. 26, through Thursday, Jan. 29:

Tuesday

Zumba on the Plaza — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

If you like dancing and want to get in a workout, join the Zumba dancers at City Hall Plaza. Instructor Gabriela Jurado is back at it with moves designed for all levels. This is a free class that happens every Tuesday outdoors, so bring water.

Wednesday

Historic Miramar Advisory Board meeting — 6:30 p.m.

The city is paying attention to Historic Miramar east of I-75 with the Historic Miramar Advisory Board. It meets on the last Wednesday of the month at the Multi-Service Complex conference room. Join to have your voice heard on building, planning and zoning issues related to the area, or ask about the vacant board seat for a Historic Miramar business owner.

George T. Stagg Night — 6 p.m.

Try a new bourbon at World of Beer. The restaurant calls George T. Stagg an “ultra-rare” release on its Facebook page. Quantities will be limited to one 1.25 ounce neat pour per guest, and all participants must be 21 or older.

Miramar Chess Club — 7 to 10 p.m.

The Starbucks on Red Road hosts a group of local chess enthusiasts every Wednesday night. These meets are open to all, as long as you’re into strategy games. Bring your own chess set and play matches against new friends, for free.

Thursday

Line dancing classes — 6 to 8 p.m.

A new free class has been added to the Vernon E. Hargray Youth Enrichment Center. Line dancing with Jammin Jamei is a fun-filled dance class that doubles as exercise. Learn line dances to popular songs and come back to see if you remember them next time.
