Some new events are on the docket for Miramar this week.

Check out new Pilates classes at two locations, extra yoga classes and a special public information session about updates to Miramar Parkway.

Here are some of the events happening in Miramar from Monday, April 13, through Thursday, April 16:

Monday

Free Dental Cleaning — Monday and Thursday

Concorde Career Dental Hygiene Clinic is offering free dental cleanings and exams on Monday 8 a.m. and Thursday at 8 a.m. and noon. Appointments are required and limited. This includes X-rays and a checkup from the dentist, supervised by an instructor.

Set the Pace — 6:45 p.m.

Miramar Run Club’s Set the Pace run is designed for all running levels. Join the community if you’re looking for an easy way to get started at a comfortable speed. Monday’s runs are free.

Monday Flow @ The Rooftop With Kat — 7 p.m.

Reserve your spot for this free yoga flow at Epic Residences that is accessible to all levels. This class, from Threetwo Ave, takes place on the rooftop of the parking garage. Bring a towel to place under your mat and water.

Tuesday

Rhythms and Rhymes Storytime — 10:30 to 11 a.m.

Preschool-age kids can enjoy a storytime just for them at the Miramar Branch Library. The session includes stories, songs and rhymes for ages 2-5.

Zumba on the Plaza — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

City Hall plaza comes alive at night with dance and music. Join instructor Gabriela Jurado for an outdoors exercise that works up a sweat, set to Latin music, for free.

Haus of Align Mat Pilates — 6:30 p.m.

This Pilates group welcomes all levels. Miramar residents pay $24 for a mat class that focuses on control, alignment and breath. It will be a full-body workout with modifications for different levels of exercise.

Weekly Live Trivia Nights at World of Beer — 7 p.m.

Competitive trivia nights at World of Beer are open to new teams. Register with the National Trivia League at ChallengeEntertainment.com and compete every Tuesday, and win prizes as the top team.

Tuesday Flow @ The Rooftop With V — 8 p.m.

Another yoga flow from Threetwo Ave takes place at the Epic Residences. Classes happen on the rooftop, where attendees bring their own mats and towels. All levels are welcome. All rooftop classes are weather dependent.

Wednesday

Wine Down Wednesday: Miramar Business Social — 7 p.m.

Sponsored by LegalShield, this networking event connects local business owners, professionals and entrepreneurs to each other for productive conversations. Each ticket is $7 for entry at Sushi Sake.

Wednesday Night Chess — 7 to 10 p.m.

Practice chess with other enthusiasts at the Starbucks on Red Road. The Miramar Chess Club welcomes all, as long as you bring your own chess set.

Wednesday Slow Flow & Sound @ The Rooftop With Andrea & Isa — 8 p.m.

This yoga class from Threetwo Ave is led by Andrea with a soundbath by Isa. The instruction is suitable for all levels, just bring a mat and a towel. In addition, the instructors recommend you bring a journal to the rooftop at Epic Residences.

Thursday

Miramar Parkway Safety Improvements – Public Information Meeting — 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Broward Commissioner Alexandra P. Davis will inform the public about safety improvements along Miramar Parkway. Some changes include roadway safety enhancements and improved pedestrian and bicycle features. If you want to give your input and ask questions, attend at the Alexandra P. Davis Multi-Service Complex.

Line Dancing — 6 to 8 p.m.

Join Jammin’ Jamei and a group of fellow dancers to learn line dances to popular songs. This two hour class helps work up a sweat, so bring water. It’s a free class that takes place at the Vernon E. Hargray Youth Enrichment Center.

Blasting Community Advisory Board Meeting — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Many residents file blasting-related complaints with the city due to the shaking and disturbances it causes. The Blasting Community Advisory Board has open meetings and what they discuss gets taken back to the city commission. Attend at the Miramar Development Services building, and check if board positions are open.

Zumba - Hosted by Mayor Wayne M. Messam — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Instructor Gabriela Jurado is back at the Sunset Lakes Community Center for another Zumba class. This class happens every Thursday and is a great way to meet new people, get some exercise and have fun.

Haus of Align Pilates in the Park — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Pilates focuses on intentional movements, breathing and control. Learn more at this class that takes place in Miramar Regional Park for $24. The workout is full-body and has modifications for all levels.
