The Miramar City Commission meets Wednesday night with an agenda that ranges from infrastructure and public safety spending to roof repairs, upgrading police record keeping and finishing the city’s 9/11 monument.

The 7 p.m. meeting on May 20 includes more than $3 million in proposed taxpayer spending.

1. Sunset Lakes Community Center Roof Replacement

One of the largest spending items on the agenda involves replacing the roof at the Sunset Lakes Community Center.

  • Base project cost: $1,204,302
  • Contingency allocation: $50,000

2. Miramar Police Records Software Renewal

The Miramar Police Department is seeking approval for a three-year renewal of the Mark43 records management software system.

3. 9/11 Memorial Monument Completion

Commissioners are expected to vote on additional funding to complete the 9/11 Memorial Monument at Miramar Regional Park. The city is also expected to accept more than $309,000 tied to a performance bond dispute involving the original contractor.
