Those who frequent the Miramar Branch Library & Education Center are out of luck for the next month as the facility is closing for recarpeting.

The last day the library will be open is Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., until it closes for a month. It’s expected to re-open Monday, Dec. 1.

Some visitors are sad about the closure after seeing all the signage the library has posted about it, but they get that it has to be done, a staff member told the Miramar News.

The library is still hosting seed packet pickups with the junior Broward Sierra Group through the end of October and has a scheduled Halloween Scavenger Hunt. The last event will be adult coloring on Nov. 1.

An advanced English Cafe event for participants to practice the language with other learners will take place online Nov. 3.

The library recommends visitors head to other nearby Broward County branches, including the Pembroke Pines/Walter C. Young Resource Center, which is only about a 3-mile drive from the Miramar branch.

The Broward County Library system allows cardholders to check out materials at any of its 37 locations.
