If you’ve ever wanted to learn line dances and join in the fun, there’s only one more chance to attend Sneakers on the Ground this year.

The last Sneakers on the Ground of 2025 will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, at the Vernon E. Hargray Youth Enrichment Center gymnasium.

This event has previously sold out. Tickets are available on Eventbrite for free for Miramar residents only.

Miramar Commissioner Avril Cherasard has been hosting this line dance series since September with dance instructor Jammin Jamei.

“We’re wrapping up the season in style with our final event until August 2026,” Cherasard said in an Instagram post.

Cherasard and Jamei lead a large group in a dance party open to ages 12 and up.

This is not a “boots on the ground” event, like the viral line-dance song, as boots are not allowed on the gym floor.

At a previous event, attendees showed up in pink for breast cancer awareness. For this edition, dancers are asked to wear red and white.

It’s also the holiday season and toy drives are taking place across the city. Sneakers on the Ground will be the site of a toy drive and organizers encourage people to bring an unwrapped toy to donate.
