Disgruntled former employee fires two shots at a Miramar business, cops say

Miramar Police reported gunshots at a business in Historic Miramar on Sunday, Jan. 11.

According to a police spokesperson, officers responded to a disturbance at a business on Southwest 23rd Street and 60th Way. Police did not release the name of the business where the shooting occurred.

The shooting took place near the St. Stephen Catholic Parish Carnival on State Road 7.

A recently fired employee returned to the business around 7:20 p.m. and got into an argument with another employee, police said. The suspect discharged a firearm twice before leaving the scene and their car behind.

Police told the Miramar News on Jan. 12 that while they have not found the suspect, they plan to press charges.

No injuries were reported.

Aviation and K-9 units are helping with the search.
