One person was injured in a shooting Monday afternoon at a Miramar gas station, marking the second violent incident in recent months at the same Sunoco where a 19-year-old man was killed in January, police said.

In the latest incident, Miramar police responded at around 12:45 p.m. on March 2 to reports of gunfire at the gas station at 7520 Pembroke Road, according to Miramar police spokeswoman Janice McIntosh.

“Preliminary investigation indicates an argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which shots were fired,” McIntosh told the Miramar News in an email.

It is unclear whether the argument was between customers.

The injured, unidentified man transported himself to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury, McIntosh said. It is unclear whether the injury was a gunshot wound.

A vehicle allegedly involved in the incident was towed from the gas station Monday afternoon.

McIntosh said detectives are now trying to piece together what led to the shooting. No arrests have been made as of the time of publication of this article.

The Sunoco is the same location where a deadly shooting occurred on Jan. 6 and was captured by the station’s security cameras.

In the January incident, Christian Corea was killed during an altercation with a man who approached a Mercedes-Benz he was sitting in while it was parked at a pump, police said.

Two other men, including a bystander — a man working on his car nearby — were wounded in the shooting, but both survived, police said.

One of the wounded men, J’Shaun Williams, 28, has been charged for his alleged role in the shooting. Another suspect who reportedly fled the scene remains at large.

Detectives have said they are working to determine who opened fire.

The January killing marked Miramar’s first fatal shooting of 2026. Monday’s violence adds to concerns about recurring crime along the busy commercial corridor on Pembroke Road.
