Miramar Cultural Center exhibit features all women artists. Here are the details
The Miramar Cultural Center is celebrating the importance of women’s art this Women’s History Month.
To recognize the social and cultural achievements of women all over the world, the new exhibit “Balancing the Scales” will display visual art exclusively made by women.
The exhibit at the Ansin Family Art Gallery inside the Miramar Cultural Center opens Thursday, March 12, and runs through Monday, April 6.
Since 1995, March has been designated Women’s History Month by presidential proclamation.
To cap Women’s History Month, Miramar Vice Mayor Yvette Colbourne will host a “Balancing the Scales” meet-and-greet dialogue from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, with three speakers:
- Laura Vivas, a singer-songwriter known for her performances on season 3 of “The Voice”
- Nicole Cummings, a program manager for NASA
- Michelle Grant Murray, artistic director of the Olujimi Dance Theatre in Miami
This event is free with RSVP.
The Ansin Family Art Gallery presents exhibits throughout the year with free admission. It is open Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
