The Miramar community is active this weekend, offering free events such as a street cleanup, plant sale and resource fair.

If you’re into shows, the Rebel Salute music festival is on Sunday, and the Rhythms of Africa concert is Saturday and Sunday.

Here are some of the events happening in Miramar from Friday, April 17, through Sunday, April 19:

Friday

Friday Follow @ The Rooftop With V — 7 to 8 p.m.

Join a class from Threetwo Ave, hosted for free outdoors at the Epic Residences. This yoga instruction is labeled as advanced, but all levels are welcome. The group will be on the garage rooftop; cars will be parked just before the entrance. Bring a mat and water.

Saturday

Miramar Community Garden Plant Sale — 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Miramar Community Garden has been preparing for its biggest plant sale yet. There will be seedlings, herbs and more for sale, plus a set of handcrafted teas. The garden is located in Historic Miramar at 3700 Largo Drive.

Adopt-A-Street Clean Up — 8:30 to 10 a.m.

The Miramar Park Homeowners Group is teaming up to clean near Fairway Park, 3700 Largo Drive. They will focus on Island Drive south of Miramar Parkway. If you’re looking to earn volunteer hours or meet with neighbors, this team is for you.

Yoga at MCC Botanical Garden — 10 to 11 a.m.

Mayor Wayne M. Messam hosts yoga each Saturday at the Miramar Cultural Center botanical garden. Enjoy this outdoors flow with other yoga lovers of all levels, and bring your own mat. Make sure to fill out the city’s release form before attending.

Autism Awareness Resource Fair — 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you’re wondering what special needs resources are available in your city, this fair at Miramar Regional Park will have them front and center. Meet local organizations, gather information and explore supportive services for families with autism spectrum disorder.

Record Store Day with VP Records — 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

To celebrate Record Store Day, VP Records has a lineup of DJs performing at this free event. VP Records is featuring DJ Peppa Boxx, and all Djs will play exclusively on vinyl.

Saturday Flow @ The Rooftop With V — 10:30 to 11 a.m.

Threetwo Ave is back at Epic Residences for a yoga flow on the rooftop of the parking garage. Park before the entrance and go upstairs to meet a group that welcomes all levels of yoga lovers. Make sure to bring a mat, water and a towel.

Chess Club — Noon to 2 p.m.

In partnership with the Miramar Chess Club, the Miramar Branch Library is hosting casual rounds of chess. Whether you’re new to the game or experienced, you can play with a community of strategy lovers. .

Rhythms of Africa — Saturday and Sunday

Performances of “Run Di Riddim: Every Beat for Jamaica” will feature Willie Stewart, reggae ambassador and former Third World drummer. Along with performances from Jamaican singers JC Lodge, Richie Stephens and Gem Myers, students from Somerset Academy Central Miramar will perform with the band. Tickets are $35-$45.

Sunday

Rebel Salute — 2 to 10 p.m.

Rebel Salute, the famed Jamaican music festival, will be making its U.S. debut. Get into roots reggae and enjoy vegetarian food with tickets starting at $59. This inaugural celebration will take place at Miramar Regional Park. Rebel Salute is advertised as a family-friendly, “wholesome” festival with no meat, no drugs, no alcohol and no weapons.
