It’s time to celebrate in Miramar, and there are plenty of events that bring that energy.

Head to a drone show at Miramar Regional Park that features a special performance for the country’s 250th anniversary.

A game and karaoke night for adults is happening at Doucé Restaurant & Lounge, plus an open mic night at Miramar Seafood & Steak.

Also, a free self-defense class is being offered at Karate America.

Here are some of the events happening in Miramar from Monday, June 22, through Thursday, June 25:

Monday

Breastfeeding Class Memorial Hospital Miramar — 6 p.m.

Need guidance in the early days of breastfeeding? Memorial Hospital Miramar offers a free class for mothers and their infants, and any other parents or caretakers in their lives. Meet a board-certified lactation consultant and ask questions.

Set the Pace — 6:45 p.m.

If you’ve never heard of the Miramar Run Club, this is a good way to get introduced. Set the Pace is the club’s free run that is open to all, where you can walk, jog or run with pacers. Meet at City Hall Plaza; the run starts at 7 p.m.

Tuesday

Rhythms & Rhymes Storytime! — 10:30 to 11 a.m.

Get ready for preschool with the Miramar Branch Library. Bring the kids for reading and activities that are meant to help them develop social and learning skills. Staff will be available to guide kids and parents.

Family Movies hosted by Miramar Branch Library — 2 p.m.

Stay cool indoors with a movie suitable for the whole family. The Miramar Branch Library wants you to bring your popcorn and blankets to enjoy the film. Call 954-357-8180 to inquire about the movie being shown.

ZUMBA at Town Center Plaza — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Join Gaby Zumba Fit for a night in Town Center dancing along to the music. Latin dance moves turn into exercise moves at a Zumba class. Follow along and make sure to bring water to class.

Mat Pilates — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Seeking a full-body mat Pilates flow? Instructors from Haus of Align are there to show you the ropes. Pilates movements will focus on alignment, control and breathing. Bring a mat and water to the Vernon E. Hargray Youth Enrichment Center and get ready to move in a calm, supportive environment. Tickets are $24.

Weekly Live Trivia Night at World of Beer — 7 p.m.

Every Tuesday, head to World of Beer for themed trivia nights with prizes. If you have a team ready, register them at Challenge Entertainment to participate.

Warrior Women’s Self Defense Seminar — 7 to 8 p.m.

Head to Karate America for a free self-defense seminar for women. Pick up practical techniques that could enhance your safety, whether you’re enhancing your skills or just beginning.

The Freedom Legacy Drone Show Experience — 8 to 11 p.m.

To celebrate America250, the official 250th anniversary of the U.S., Commissioner Maxwell Chambers is hosting a drone show at Miramar Regional Park. Steve Ray Ladson, a country musician of “America’s Got Talent” fame, is scheduled to perform. Enjoy an immersive show with music from Luna Lite Drone Show Technologies.

Wednesday

Your Journey into Nursing — 6 to 8 p.m.

The FVI School of Nursing and Technology has a Miramar campus that is welcoming new students. Learn about the nursing programs and explore labs at this open house. You’ll hear how to apply for and earn an Associate of Science in Nursing degree.

Historic Miramar Advisory Board Meeting — 6:30 p.m.

Historic Miramar, or the area west of I-75, has an advisory board that makes recommendations to the commission. It ill meet at the Alexandra P. Davis Multi-Service Center to make decisions and disseminate information about Historic Miramar’s future. Join the Building, Planning and Zoning team to give your input and learn more in person or via Webex.

Game Night & Karaoke at Doucé Restaurant & Lounge — 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Need a midweek escape? This restaurant is hosting a karaoke and game night with drink and hookah specials. Enjoy music by DJ Freezy, sing a song or enjoy one of many drink or food specials.

Thursday

Broward County Tax Collector at Miramar City Hall — 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Broward County Tax Collector’s team will be in Miramar to assist residents with property tax discounts, payment plans, e-billing, business tax applications and more. No registration is required for this free event.

Jigsaw Puzzle Party and Exchange — Noon to 2 p.m.

Finished with a puzzle? Meet other puzzle enthusiasts at the Miramar Branch Library to swap it for a new one. Make sure none of the pieces are missing and then exchange it for one of a similar size. This event is for ages 12 and up.

Zumba Thursdays — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

This Zumba class takes place at the Sunset Lakes Community Center. Instructor Gabriela Jurado turns up the music and leads the crowd in dance moves that help you work up a sweat. Make sure to fill out the city’s waiver before attending and bring water.

Pilates in the Park — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

This all-levels mat Pilates class takes place at Miramar Regional Park. Tickets are $24, and all you have to bring is a mat and water. Learn to move with greater control and alignment with Haus of Align’s Pilates teacher.

Line Dancing — 6 to 8 p.m.

Jammin Jamei, the instructor from the Sneakers on the Ground series, returns to the Vernon E. Hargray Youth Enrichment Center for line dancing classes every Thursday. Get ready to step, move and sweat in this two-hour class where you’ll learn line dances to popular songs.

Open Mic Night — 8:30 p.m.

Looking to show off your skills? Miramar Seafood & Steak calls all singers, dancers, actors and performers to join its open mic night. Show up to support local talent or sign up to get on stage yourself.
